The first modern Navy in the nation was built by Chhatrapati Shivaji, who is reflected in the applets worn by naval commanders, according to a statement made by PM Modi.
On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that the Indian Navy would rename its ranks in accordance with national culture and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening the position of women in the armed services.
He praised Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for his foresight and military tactics, pointing out that the Maratha monarch of the 17th century understood the value of naval might.
Speaking during a Navy Day celebration at Malvan, a coastal district of Maharashtra around 500 miles from Mumbai, was the Prime Minister. “We are emphasising on increasing the number of women in the armed forces,” he stated. Following the news that a female commander would be leading a Navy ship, Narendra Modi praised the Navy.
He added that the Indian Navy would rename ranks in accordance with Indian customs.
