The Kedarnath Yatra has been temporarily suspended due to heavy landslides and flash floods triggered by incessant rainfall in Uttarakhand. In Rudraprayag district, a significant landslide occurred around 3:30 am on Saturday, blocking the Gaurikund to Kedarnath pedestrian route with massive debris and boulders.

Authorities have immediately halted all movement along the route to ensure the safety of pilgrims. Restoration work is currently underway to clear the path and restore connectivity to the shrine. Officials have advised pilgrims to remain at safe locations and follow all instructions issued by the local administration.

The region has been witnessing continuous rainfall, raising concerns about further disruptions and potential hazards. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and other emergency teams are on high alert.
