Administrator of Lakshadweep said that “India gave a befitting reply to Maldives.”

Ministers Malsha Shareef, Mariyam Shiuna, and Abdulla Mahzoom Majid of the Maldives were suspended for insulting Prime Minister Modi. Administrator of Lakshadweep Praful Patel stated on Monday that India’s honour had been called into question by the three Maldivian deputy ministers’ disparaging comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to Patel, such an insult will never be accepted in India. He expressed his gratitude to the Indian populace for supporting Prime Minister Modi, Patel responded that the ministers who made the comments have received disciplinary action when questioned about the call for a public apology from the Maldives government. The administrator declared that the ministers had received consequences for their behavioral, demonstrating that India will not put up with any slight to its prime minister. He stated that India had responded to the Maldives appropriately, with everyone from movie stars to common people showing support.

After the prime minister shared photos of his visit to the union territory, Male suspended Abdulla Mahzoom Majid, Malsha Shareef, and Mariyam Shiuna for their divisive remarks against him. Boycott Maldives became a trend on social media in response to the statement, which caused a significant outcry. The Mohammad Muizzu government took action after New Delhi made it apparent that the ministers’ comments were inappropriate and out of line. The ministers’ comments were described as “personal opinions” in a statement released by the Maldives government, which distanced itself from them, Ibrahim Shaheeb, the high commissioner of the Maldives, was called to the ministry of external affairs on Monday. He was informed that the president of the Maldives, Muizzu, had the responsibility to mend the bilateral relationship as the island nation had damaged it. He was informed that the three junior ministers ought to be fired rather than merely placed on leave.
