.approximately 4:30 AM, the Mumbai-Amravati Express collided with a wheat-laden truck near Bodwad Railway Station in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district. The truck had illegally entered the railway tracks through a closed level crossing, leading to the collision.
The accident resulted in significant damage to railway infrastructure, including overhead electric wires, leading to disruptions on the Mumbai-Kolkata route. Train services, including the Mumbai-Amravati Express, experienced delays of up to one and a half hours, with other trains on the route also running behind schedule due to diversions.
Repair work commenced promptly, with expectations to restore the tracks within an hour and a half. Authorities have launched an investigation and may take legal action against the truck driver for reckless behavior.
Notably, this incident follows a previous train accident near Jalgaon in January 2025, in which 13 people lost their lives in a collision involving the Pushpak Express.
