The Ministry of External Affairs was given Rs 1,310 crore by the government on Thursday in preparation for India’s G20 presidency and summit. Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan responded in writing to a question posed in the Rajya Sabha, stating that the Ministry of Finance had allotted Rs 320 crore and Rs 990 crore, respectively, to the Ministry of External Affairs for India’s G20 presidency and summit in 2022–2023 and 2023–2024. “No additional funds have been released to the G20 Secretariat other than the amount referred above,” Muraleedharan stated. He stated that the G20 Secretariat was receiving and processing the bills for the G20 Summit and associated events held around India.
