Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has taken a firm stand after a BJP-aligned local body or faction entered into an understanding with the Congress and AIMIM, calling the move “not acceptable” and ordering an immediate exit from the arrangement.
BJP draws a clear political line
According to party sources, Fadnavis made it clear that any association — formal or informal — with Congress or AIMIM violates the BJP’s ideological position and alliance discipline. He instructed party leaders at the ground level to withdraw support without delay and submit a clarification on how the tie-up was allowed to happen.
“This kind of alignment sends a wrong political message and cannot be justified under any circumstances,” a senior BJP leader said, echoing Fadnavis’s stance.
