बीबीसी (BBC) ने आधिकारिक रूप से पुष्टि कर दी है कि उनकी पॉपुलर पुलिस-एंटी करप्शन ड्रामा Line of Duty सातवीं सीरीज़ के लिए वापस आ रही है।
यह नए सीज़न कुल छह एपिसोड का होगा और इसकी शूटिंग वसंत 2026 में बेलफास्ट में शुरू होने की योजना है।
तीन मुख्य कलाकार — मार्टिन कंपस्टन (Steve Arnott), विकी मैकलूर (Kate Fleming) और एड्रियन डनबर (Ted Hastings) — सभी अपनी पुरानी भूमिकाओं में लौटेंगे।
नए सीज़न में कथानक में बड़े बदलाव होंगे: अब AC-12 यूनिट को बंद कर दिया गया है और उसकी जगह Inspectorate of Police Standards नाम की संस्था बनाई गई है।
सीज़न की शुरुआत एक संवेदनशील मामले से होगी — एक प्रतिष्ठित डिटेक्टिव इंस्पेक्टर पर यौन उत्पीड़न (sexual misconduct) का आरोप लगाया गया है, जो दर्शकों के सामने करप्शन की एक नई, जटिल तस्वीर पेश करेगा।
शो के निर्माता जेड मर्कुरियो (Jed Mercurio) ने कहा है कि दर्शकों के बीच यह सीरीज़ “उनके करियर की नौकरी” के रूप में रही है और “करप्शन अब समाप्त हो गई है” ऐसी सोच ने उन्हें नई कहानी पर काम करने के लिए प्रेरित किया है।
पिछली बार Line of Duty सीरीज़ का फ़ाइनल एपिसोड 2021 में आया था, जिसे लगभग 12.8 मिलियन दर्शकों ने देखा था — ये संख्या ब्रिटिश ड्रामा के लिए बहुत बड़ी थी।
