Heavy Rain, Thunderstorm Alerts Issued Across Jharkhand Till July 1

Ranchi, June 28: The monsoon has become active over Jharkhand, with the Meteorological Department forecasting widespread rainfall across several districts till July 1. A Yellow Alert has been issued for 13 districts today (Saturday, June 28) due to the possibility of heavy rain and lightning, while an Orange Alert is in place for seven districts on Sunday (June 29) for very heavy rainfall.

Yellow Alert for June 28 (Saturday):

Heavy rain and lightning are likely in the following districts:

  • Ranchi, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, Khunti, Simdega

  • West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, Koderma, Chatra, Bokaro, Seraikela-Kharsawan

Orange Alert for June 29 (Sunday):

Very heavy rain is expected in:

  • Chatra, Hazaribagh, Latehar, Lohardaga, Ramgarh, Ranchi, and Gumla

At the same time, Yellow Alerts remain in effect for rain with lightning in these districts on June 29:

  • Garhwa, Palamu, Bokaro, Khunti, Simdega, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, and Seraikela-Kharsawan

Forecast for June 30 and July 1:

  • On June 30, nine districts are expected to receive good rainfall under a Yellow Alert.

  • On July 1, five districts are also likely to see moderate to heavy rain.

The Meteorological Department has urged residents to remain cautious, avoid open areas during lightning, and follow local advisories. Farmers, travelers, and outdoor workers are especially advised to stay updated and take necessary precautions.
