New Delhi, June 21: A 26-year-old man accused of robbing ₹10 lakh from an employee of a Chartered Accountant (CA) firm in Rohini has been arrested by Delhi Police, officials confirmed on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Rahul, was apprehended near D Mall in Rohini on June 19 after a brief chase, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Harsh Indora. Rahul had been absconding since May 21, the day the robbery took place.

As per police reports, Rahul and his associate Jatin Tiwari were involved in the daylight robbery near Sector 3 in South Rohini. The victim, an employee of a CA firm, was carrying a cash bag when the two men approached him on a motorcycle. Rahul was riding the bike, while Jatin, who was the pillion rider, snatched the bag and the duo fled the scene.

A case was registered at the concerned police station, and a manhunt was launched to track down the culprits. Using surveillance footage, technical analysis, and local intelligence, police were able to zero in on Rahul’s whereabouts.

“Rahul was trying to lay low and kept changing his locations, but we finally managed to catch him near D Mall,” said DCP Indora.

Police are currently interrogating the accused to trace the stolen money and identify any possible involvement in other criminal activities. Efforts are also ongoing to nab his accomplice, Jatin Tiwari, who remains at large.

This arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the case and highlights the effectiveness of Delhi Police’s crime branch in tackling organized street crimes in the city.
