HYDERABAD: In a significant political development, three ruling Congress MLAs — G Vivek Venkata Swamy, Adluri Laxman Kumar, and Vakiti Srihari — are all set to be inducted into the Telangana state cabinet led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 8, at 12 noon at Raj Bhavan, according to official sources.
This expansion of the cabinet comes as part of the party’s effort to strengthen governance and bring in experienced leadership. All three MLAs are considered close aides of the Chief Minister and have been actively involved in party affairs. G Vivek Venkata Swamy is a prominent political figure and industrialist who recently returned to active politics. Adluri Laxman Kumar represents Nizamabad (Urban) and is known for his grassroots connection, while Vakiti Srihari, a senior leader and former deputy chief minister, brings substantial administrative experience to the cabinet.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy congratulated the incoming ministers and expressed confidence that their inclusion would bolster the government’s efforts to deliver on its promises to the people. This is the second expansion of the Telangana cabinet since the Congress party came to power in the state in December 2023.
Political analysts view this move as an attempt to strike a balance between regional representation and experience in governance. The induction is also expected to enhance the party’s outreach in key districts ahead of upcoming civic polls.
With this development, the total strength of the Telangana cabinet will increase, aligning with the constitutional limit for ministerial appointments. More changes and appointments are expected in the coming months as the government works to implement its developmental agenda.
