Abducted Three-Month-Old Baby Rescued Within 24 Hours in Navi Mumbai; Woman Arrested

In a swift and commendable operation, the Navi Mumbai Police successfully rescued a three-month-old baby girl who was abducted from outside Panvel railway station. The child was recovered safely within 24 hours of the incident, and a woman has been arrested in connection with the crime.

The abduction took place on Friday afternoon, between 3:00 pm and 3:30 pm, when the baby was with her mother near the Panvel station premises. According to Senior Inspector Nitin Thackeray of the Panvel City Police Station, an unidentified woman allegedly approached the mother under the pretext of offering help and then abducted the infant.

Once the police were informed, multiple teams were formed to investigate the case. The officials quickly scanned CCTV footage from around the railway station and surrounding areas. Based on the footage and technical surveillance, the suspect was tracked down and apprehended.

The arrested woman was found with the baby, who was unharmed. The child was immediately reunited with her mother, bringing immense relief to the family. The motive behind the kidnapping is currently under investigation, and police are probing whether the woman acted alone or was part of a larger network.

Inspector Thackeray praised the coordinated efforts of the police force and emphasized the importance of remaining alert in public spaces. He also urged the public to immediately report any suspicious activities, especially around children.

The quick rescue highlights the Navi Mumbai Police’s efficiency and commitment to child safety. The accused woman is now in custody and will face appropriate legal action.
