On Friday evening, Gautam Adani, the chairman of Adani Group, held a significant meeting with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren at his residence in Ranchi. The meeting, which lasted approximately two hours, focused on several key topics, particularly regarding potential investments in the state of Jharkhand.
A statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) confirmed the details of the meeting, stating that it was a formal discussion aimed at exploring opportunities to enhance investment in the region. The meeting was a notable occasion as it marked the first interaction between Adani and Soren since the JMM-led alliance secured a second consecutive term in power in Jharkhand in November of the previous year.
One of the prominent topics discussed was the Adani Group’s ongoing investment in the state. The group has already set up a 1,600 MW power plant in Godda, Jharkhand, with plans to supply electricity to neighboring Bangladesh. This project is expected to play a key role in strengthening regional energy ties and boosting economic growth in Jharkhand.
The Adani Group has long been involved in energy and infrastructure projects, and this meeting underscored the potential for further collaboration between the state government and the conglomerate to stimulate investment and development in Jharkhand.
