Heatwave Conditions Intensify Across Parts of India

Several regions across India experienced a sharp rise in temperatures on March 21, 2026, as early heatwave conditions began to take hold in multiple states.

According to the India Meteorological Department, temperatures in parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh crossed seasonal averages by a noticeable margin. Dry winds and clear skies contributed to the sudden spike in heat levels.

Authorities issued advisories urging people to avoid direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours and stay hydrated. Schools in some areas adjusted timings to protect students from extreme heat conditions.

Health officials warned that prolonged exposure to high temperatures could lead to dehydration and heat-related illnesses, especially among children and elderly citizens. Emergency services have been put on alert in vulnerable districts.

The India Meteorological Department has predicted that heatwave conditions may persist over the next few days, with gradual intensification in some regions.

This early onset of summer-like conditions has raised concerns among farmers as well, as it may impact crop cycles and water availability in the coming weeks.
