नवी दिल्ली, 22 जुलै: जागतिक चित्रपटप्रेमींमध्ये अत्यंत आदरणीय असलेल्या इराणी चित्रपट दिग्दर्शक जफर पनाही यांना आशियाई चित्रपट उद्योग आणि संस्कृतीच्या विकासासाठी केलेल्या महत्त्वपूर्ण योगदानाबद्दल बुसान आंतरराष्ट्रीय चित्रपट महोत्सवाने ‘आशियाई वर्षाचे चित्रपट दिग्दर्शक’ म्हणून सन्मानित केले आहे.
पनाही यांनी “The White Balloon,” “Offside,” “The Circle,” आणि “3 Faces” सारख्या जागतिक दर्जाच्या सिनेमांची निर्मिती केली आहे. ते आंतरराष्ट्रीय चित्रपट क्षेत्रात उच्च स्थानावर असले तरी, त्यांच्या देशात त्यांच्या कलात्मक कार्यावर अनेकदा बंदी आणि अडथळे आले आहेत.
तीन वर्षांपूर्वी त्यांना तुरुंगवास भोगावा लागला आणि त्यांनी भुकेच्या अनशनावरही बसले होते. तरीही, घरातील अडथळ्यांनंतरही त्यांनी “This Is Not a Film” (जो त्यांनी घरात बसून बनवला) आणि “Taxi” (जो पूर्णपणे कारमध्ये घडणारा चित्रपट) यांसारखे प्रभावी चित्रपट साकारले.
