Punjab Police Arrest Three Wanted Criminals in Joint Operation

CHANDIGARH (June 8) — In a major breakthrough against organized crime, the Punjab Police on Sunday announced the arrest of three wanted criminals during a joint operation by the Anti-Gangster Task Force and Muktsar Police.

Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav confirmed that the arrested individuals have been identified as Gaurav Kumar alias Billa, Vikasdeep Singh, and Lovepreet Singh. All three were wanted in multiple criminal cases and had been evading arrest for an extended period.

According to the police, the operation led to the seizure of two pistols, 10 live cartridges, and 174 grams of heroin from the accused. The arrests are part of an intensified crackdown on gang-related activities and drug trafficking across the state.

“These arrests send a strong message to criminal elements that they have no place in Punjab. The Punjab Police is fully committed to maintaining law and order and will continue its zero-tolerance approach towards gangsters and drug smugglers,” DGP Yadav stated.

The Anti-Gangster Task Force, launched by the Punjab government, has been actively tracking and neutralizing criminal networks operating within and beyond state borders. The recent arrests are believed to have disrupted a local gang’s operations significantly.

Further investigations are underway to uncover the full extent of the trio’s criminal network and any possible links to larger syndicates. Authorities are also examining whether the seized weapons were intended for any planned attacks.

The successful operation reflects the Punjab Police’s ongoing efforts to curb the dual threats of organized crime and narcotics, reinforcing public safety and restoring confidence in law enforcement.
