Palladium India has been awarded the prestigious ‘Net Zero Initiative of the Year’ at the Water Digest World Water Awards 2024-25. This award, given in partnership with UNESCO, and supported by the Ministry of Jal Shakti and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), recognizes the company’s outstanding work in promoting sustainability and environmental progress across the country.
The award celebrates Palladium India’s commitment to helping cities and sectors move towards Net Zero emissions. In Pimpri Chinchwad, the company worked with the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) to raise ₹200 crore through municipal bonds for river rejuvenation projects and developed a comprehensive flood mitigation plan for the Pawana River. These initiatives are aimed at creating long-term environmental impact and improving urban infrastructure.
Palladium has also played a key role in building local government capacity by training over 150 officers in disaster response techniques in collaboration with Japanese experts. Their sustainability strategy includes reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 27% by 2030, promoting electric mobility, and implementing air quality monitoring systems and a Heat Action Plan in cities. Notably, 30% of PCMC’s transport fleet has already shifted to electric vehicles as part of this initiative.
The award was presented by Raj Bhushan Choudhary, Minister of State, Ministry of Jal Shakti, and received by Anoop Phanse, Associate Director, Palladium India, during a grand ceremony attended by key policymakers and industry leaders.
Apart from their work in Pimpri Chinchwad, Palladium has made significant contributions in Thane, where the organization helped the Thane Municipal Corporation install 1.05 lakh Smart Water Meters. This move reduced water wastage by 15%, improving the city’s overall water efficiency and supporting its Net Zero goals.
In Maharashtra, Palladium has developed a Landslide Management Plan focusing on 483 high-risk villages, along with India’s first fort-specific disaster management plan for Panhala Fort, combining heritage conservation with disaster preparedness. The organization is also leading the Konkan Coastal Disaster Mitigation Project, which aims to minimize loss of life and property in disaster-prone areas.
In the transport sector, Palladium has partnered with the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) to help achieve an annual reduction of 15 million tons of carbon emissions. This was accomplished by upgrading the fleet to BS-VI emission standards and shifting from fossil fuels to cleaner energy sources.
Speaking about the recognition, Amit Patjoshi, CEO of Palladium India, said, “This award is not just an achievement, but a reflection of our commitment to integrate sustainability into every aspect of our work.”
Anoop Phanse, Associate Director, added, “Winning this award confirms the real and lasting impact we are making through every project.”
Palladium India continues to work closely with government agencies, municipal corporations, and private sector partners to deliver solutions that support both environmental and social progress.
