Army Foils Infiltration Bid in J&K’s Keran Sector, Two Militants Killed

The Indian Army on Saturday foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Keran sector, killing two militants in the ensuing encounter.

According to official sources, alert troops spotted suspicious movement near the LoC in the early hours and immediately launched an operation to intercept the infiltrators. A brief but intense exchange of fire followed, during which two militants were neutralized.

The Army recovered a cache of arms, ammunition, and other war-like stores from the slain infiltrators, indicating plans for a major strike inside Indian territory.

Security forces have launched a combing operation in the area to rule out the presence of any other militants.

This is the latest in a series of infiltration attempts thwarted by Indian security forces ahead of winter, as Pakistan-based terror groups reportedly try to push militants across the LoC before heavy snowfall blocks the mountain passes.

Officials said the operation reaffirms the Army’s strong border surveillance and readiness to counter any threat to national security.
