New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday targeted Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, stating that during the designated time to speak in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi was in Vietnam. He made this comment in the context of criticizing the functioning of Parliament, where he raised strong objections over the absence of the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi. Shah said such negligence reflects Rahul Gandhi’s lack of seriousness towards democracy. He mentioned that during the time allotted to him to speak in Parliament, Rahul Gandhi was abroad, which shows a disregard for his parliamentary duties.
Amit Shah also said it is clear that the opposition’s intention is merely to criticize and create controversy, rather than focus on the country’s progress and reforms. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi and his party, Congress, find all sorts of excuses to avoid discussions in the House.
Additionally, Shah referred to the 4% reservation in government contracts announced by the Congress government in Karnataka for Muslims as a “lollipop.” He said it was just an election tactic to confuse the public. He accused Congress of misleading the people with such decisions, making them for electoral gains rather than real change.
Amit Shah criticized the Congress party, saying that whenever any significant issue arises in the country, Congress leaders have no solid solutions. Instead, they remain embroiled in old accusations and a game of blame-shifting.
