The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an important advisory for all affiliated schools regarding the submission of student data for the upcoming Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations 2026. The Board has stressed that schools must take utmost care while uploading student details in the List of Candidates (LOC) to avoid errors that may affect students’ eligibility and future academic records.
Correction Window Announced
CBSE has clarified that schools will be given a correction window from October 13 to October 27, 2025, during which they can rectify mistakes in the submitted data. Beyond this deadline, no further changes will be allowed.
The Board has cautioned that incorrect names, subject codes, date of birth, or other personal details could lead to serious issues such as:
Ineligibility for the 2026 board exams.
Errors in mark sheets, certificates, and migration documents.
Complications during higher education admissions or competitive exams.
Key Instructions for Schools
Schools must carefully cross-check all entries before final submission.
Student details should match with official school records and previous class certificates.
Any discrepancies must be corrected strictly within the given time frame.
The head of the institution will be held responsible for any lapses.
Why Accuracy Matters
CBSE emphasized that student records submitted in the LOC form the foundation of board exam documents, which remain valid for a lifetime. Any mistake in these records can not only affect exam eligibility but also create hurdles for students in higher education and career opportunities.
The Board has urged all principals and school authorities to sensitize parents and students about the importance of accurate data submission and timely verification.
