Aizawl, Mizoram | September 13, 2025 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple infrastructure projects in Mizoram, while highlighting India’s robust economic growth.
Speaking at the event, PM Modi said that India’s economy grew by 7.8% in the first quarter of 2025-26, reaffirming the country’s position as the fastest-growing major economy in the world.
“India’s growth momentum reflects the resilience of our citizens and the effectiveness of the reforms we have undertaken. Despite global uncertainties, India is moving forward with confidence and speed,” he remarked.
Boost for the Northeast
The Prime Minister underlined that the government’s focus on improving connectivity, infrastructure, and digital access in the Northeast is paving the way for new opportunities. The projects launched in Mizoram, he said, will enhance trade links, tourism, and job creation, helping integrate the region more deeply with the national growth story.
“Development of the Northeast is not just a priority but a commitment. Better connectivity will open doors for industries, entrepreneurs, and youth across Mizoram and neighboring states,” Modi added.
Strong Economic Outlook
India’s growth comes at a time when several advanced and emerging economies are struggling with sluggish expansion due to inflationary pressures and global geopolitical tensions. Analysts attribute India’s performance to:
Strong domestic consumption
Government-led infrastructure push
Reforms in manufacturing and services
Digital transformation driving new sectors
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank have also projected that India will continue to lead global growth in the coming years, supported by a large consumer base and ongoing policy reforms.
Looking Ahead
PM Modi said the government will continue to prioritize investments in roads, railways, airports, and digital infrastructure, ensuring that economic benefits reach every corner of the country.
“India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation is powered by inclusive growth. Every state, every region, and every citizen will play a role in shaping this future,” the Prime Minister said.
