नागपूर (८ सप्टेंबर): नागपूरमध्ये सोमवारी पहाटे गणपती विसर्जन मिरवणुकीदरम्यान घडलेल्या एका दुर्दैवी अपघातात २५ वर्षीय तरुणाचा मृत्यू झाला. ही घटना पहाटे १२:३० च्या सुमारास कोराडी पोलीस ठाण्याच्या हद्दीत घडली.
पोलीस अधिकाऱ्यांनी दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, मृत व्यक्तीचे नाव अजय यादव (वय २५) असून, तो मोटरसायकलवरून “ओम बाळ गणेश उत्सव मंडळा”च्या विसर्जन मिरवणुकीत सहभागी होता. मंडळाचे कार्यकर्ते गणेशमूर्ती विसर्जनासाठी नेत असताना, वेगात येणाऱ्या एका टँकरने अजय यांच्या मोटरसायकलला जोरदार धडक दिली. या भीषण अपघातात अजय यादव यांचा जागीच मृत्यू झाला.
घटनास्थळी उपस्थित असलेल्या लोकांनी लगेचच पोलिसांना माहिती दिली आणि अजय यांना मदत करण्याचा प्रयत्न केला, परंतु तोपर्यंत फार उशीर झाला होता. पोलिसांनी घटनास्थळी पंचनामा केला असून, टँकरचालकाविरुद्ध गुन्हा दाखल करण्यात आला आहे.
गणपती विसर्जनाचा उत्सव सर्वत्र मोठ्या भक्तिभावाने साजरा होत असताना घडलेली ही दुर्घटना अत्यंत दु:खद आणि धक्कादायक आहे. प्रशासनाकडून विसर्जन मिरवणुकीदरम्यान सुरक्षेची अधिक काटेकोर व्यवस्था करण्याची मागणी होत आहे.
अजय यादव यांच्या अपघाती मृत्यूमुळे त्यांच्या कुटुंबावर आणि मंडळाच्या सदस्यांवर दुःखाचा डोंगर कोसळला आहे.
