Pune Ganeshotsav 2025 Police Tighten Immersion Schedule to Avoid Delays

With Ganeshotsav reaching its peak, Pune Police have announced stricter measures to streamline the Ganpati immersion process this year. Authorities have issued specific time slots for mandals and housing societies to ensure smooth processions and timely immersions.
The step aims to prevent long delays witnessed in previous years, reduce traffic congestion, and maintain law and order during the celebrations. Police have also deployed additional forces across key immersion routes, along with CCTV monitoring and drone surveillance for crowd management.Officials have urged devotees and mandal organizers to strictly follow the revised schedule and cooperate with the administration to ensure a safe and disciplined immersion process.
Pune is gearing up for the grand Ganesh idol immersions, and city police have announced a tighter schedule to ensure smooth celebrations. The new plan comes after repeated concerns about processions stretching late into the night, causing heavy traffic congestion, safety risks, and delays in immersion rituals.

This year, mandals and housing societies have been allocated specific time slots for immersions at different ghats and artificial tanks. Senior officials stated that the strict scheduling will help maintain discipline, reduce overcrowding, and avoid chaos during peak hours.

To support this plan, over 7,000 police personnel will be deployed across the city, with a special focus on sensitive routes. Traffic police have also created diversions, no-parking zones, and alternate routes to keep essential city movement unaffected. CCTV cameras, drone surveillance, and quick-response teams will be on standby for monitoring and emergency action.

Police have also appealed to Ganesh mandals to avoid unnecessary delays caused by extended cultural programs or long halts during the procession. Instead, they have been urged to stick to the schedule, maintain sound levels within permissible limits, and ensure discipline during immersion.

The administration has further arranged for additional artificial tanks in various areas to encourage eco-friendly immersions and reduce the burden on traditional ghats. Awareness campaigns are also being run to motivate citizens towards sustainable celebrations.

Officials emphasized that the aim is not just crowd control but also ensuring a safe, peaceful, and eco-friendly Ganeshotsav 2025 for Pune’s lakhs of devotees.
