Rohidas Kaluram Katkar, 24, from Kadve village, Velhe taluka—took a walk near Panshet Dam on June 15, 2025, with friends .He got into an argument near a hotel. A group of five men from Parbhani (all daily-wage workers residing in Pune’s Narhe) assaulted him—hitting him on the chest with a large stone, killing him instantly .

According to Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill, all the accused hail from Parbhani district and currently reside in Pune’s Narhe area. On June 15, the group visited Panshet Dam on two-wheelers. While returning to Pune around 7 pm, they stopped near a hotel for a cigarette break. It was there that an argument broke out between them and local youth Rohidas Katkar. The confrontation escalated, and the accused brutally assaulted Katkar, striking him on the chest with a stone, which led to his death on the spot. After the incident, all five fled the scene on their two-wheelers towards Pune.
