gender inequality in film industry as Manushi Chhillar spoke about.

The Media Times

Chhillar highlighted and, has recently spoken out against the pervasive misogyny in the film industry. In a post on her X (formerly Twitter) account, she expressed concern over how women, particularly those working in the film industry, are often spoken about with “disrespect and contempt.” Chhillar highlighted the societal biases that continue to undermine women’s professional accomplishments and called for a shift in attitudes toward women in the workplace.
This is not the first time Chhillar has addressed gender inequality. On International Women’s Day, she emphasized the importance of treating individuals based on their professional abilities rather than their gender. She stated, “It all starts with not judging someone’s ability to perform a task or to do their job based on their gender.”
Chhillar’s recent statements contribute to the ongoing conversation about gender equality in the entertainment industry, highlighting the need for systemic change and respect for women’s contributions.
Without naming anyone in the industry or talking about a specific incident, Manushi began in her X post, “A misogynistic mindset finds it easier to attribute a woman’s success to a man’s patronage than her own merit. I’ve always really ignored silly comments which have no consequence in the real world, but I constantly see working women, specially in the entertainment industry being discussed with such disrespect and contempt.”
