In response to the controversy involving comedian Kunal Kamra and the alleged comment he made about Maharashtra’s Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has criticized the actions taken by Shiv Sena workers, who reportedly connected Kamra’s remarks to Shinde and engaged in vandalism at Kamra’s office. Owaisi questioned the double standards of the state leadership, particularly CM Devendra Fadnavis and Yogi Adityanath, on whether bulldozers would be used against the individuals responsible for this destruction.
Owaisi, addressing a gathering, pointed out that Kamra did not name anyone specifically, yet Shinde’s party members took offense, destroyed his office, and labelled Kamra a “traitor.” Owaisi then posed a direct challenge to CM Fadnavis and Yogi Adityanath, asking whether bulldozers would be used to demolish the homes of those who carried out the destruction. He also highlighted the inconsistency in the use of bulldozers, stating that while homes of Muslims were being demolished, no such action was taken against the perpetrators of other serious crimes, such as the killers of Irfan Ansari in Nagpur.
Owaisi’s remarks underline his criticism of the selective use of force and demolition, which he believes targets only specific communities.
