नागपूरमधील हिंसाचारावर एआयएमआयएमचे प्रवक्ते वारिस पठाण यांनी आपले विधान दिले आहे, ज्यामध्ये त्यांनी या हिंसाचाराचा खंडन केला आहे. वारिस पठाण यांनी म्हटले की, लोकांनी कायद्याचे पालन करणे आवश्यक आहे आणि या घटनेचे जबाबदार असलेल्या लोकांविरुद्ध कठोर कारवाई करणे हवे. त्यांनी सरकारला मागणी केली की, हिंसाचारात सहभागी आरोपींना योग्य शिक्षा दिली जावी.
नागपूरच्या महल भागात सोमवारी रात्री भीषण हिंसाचार झाला, ज्यामध्ये दगडफेक, वाहनांची तोडफोड आणि आसपासच्या भागात आग लावण्याच्या घटना घडल्या. या हिंसाचारानंतर शहरात तणावाची स्थिती निर्माण झाली आहे, ज्यामुळे नागपूरच्या अनेक भागांमध्ये कर्फ्यू लागू करण्यात आला आहे, ज्यात कोतवाली, गणेशपेठ, लकडगंज, पचपावली, शांतिनगर, सक्करदरा, नंदनवन, इमामवाडा, यशोधरा नगर आणि कपिल नगर यांचा समावेश आहे. नागपूरचे पोलिस आयुक्त डॉ. रविंदर कुमार सिंगल यांनीसांगितले की, कर्फ्यू पुढील आदेशापर्यंत लागू राहील.या हिंसाचारात २० ते २२ पोलिस कर्मचारी जखमी झाले आहेत, आणि ६२-६५ उपद्रवींना ताब्यात घेतले आहे.
