Indian politics has undergone several significant changes over time. When we compare the politics of the past with that of today, it is clear that political perspectives, ideologies, party policies, and public expectations have evolved. The changes observed in politics from earlier times to today are a result of the shifting dynamics in society, the economy, technology, and the public’s outlook.<\/span><\/p>\n

Politics in the Past:<\/span><\/p>\n

After independence, Indian politics established a stable and strong democracy. During that time, major political parties included the Indian National Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party, and some regional parties. This period was marked by the nation-building phase, where all leaders focused on development, equality, and freedom.<\/span><\/p>\n

The leadership of the time was also very dignified. Leaders understood that for the country to progress, the support of all sections of society was necessary. Many important steps taken by leaders, such as land reforms, industrialization, and the Green Revolution, gave the nation’s economy a new direction. During this time, the political landscape was largely influenced by Gandhian ideology and Nehruvian socialism.<\/span><\/p>\n

Moreover, partisanship was a significant part of the country’s politics. People voted based on their caste, religion, or region, which generally led to a stable political environment. While corruption did exist during this period, it was not as widespread or complex as it is today.<\/span><\/p>\n

Politics Today:<\/span><\/p>\n

In today’s politics, many changes have occurred. Compared to the past, today’s leaders focus primarily on power acquisition. Today’s leaders make extensive use of media, social platforms, and digital tools for campaigning. Additionally, there is greater competition and a faster-paced exchange of accusations and counter-accusations between political parties.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regional parties now play a significant role in today’s political landscape. Parties that focus on regional and state-specific issues have become influential at the national level as well. In elections for Prime Minister, more attention is now paid to personal image and influence rather than just the party or ideology. The role of social media has brought about a significant shift in politics, allowing for instant reactions to issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another significant change in today’s politics is the increased impact of casteism, communalism, and religion-based politics. Political parties sometimes raise these issues for their own benefit, which leads to social divisions. Moreover, the influence of money in the electoral process has increased significantly over time.<\/span><\/p>\n

The political landscape has seen numerous changes, linked to developments in society, the economy, and technology. While earlier leaders focused on the nation’s prosperity, today, the focus has shifted toward personal and party interests. Despite this, the foundations of democracy remain strong, though the perspective of politics continues to shift, and we will likely witness further changes in the future.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
