Fire Breaks Out at Fragrance Chemical Company in Palghar, No Casualties Reported

Palghar, June 15 : A fire broke out at a fragrance chemical company located in the Boisar MIDC industrial area of Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Sunday afternoon, causing panic among workers and nearby residents. Fortunately, officials confirmed that there were no casualties or injuries reported in the incident.

According to fire department officials, the blaze began around 12 noon and quickly spread through the premises due to the presence of flammable chemicals. Multiple fire engines were rushed to the scene from nearby fire stations. After nearly an hour of intense firefighting efforts, the fire was brought under control by around 1 PM.

Officials stated that the factory was closed to the public at the time of the incident, which helped avoid any human loss. However, significant property damage was reported, with several sections of the plant being gutted. The intensity of the flames could be seen from a distance, and dense smoke billowed into the sky, prompting temporary roadblocks near the site for safety reasons.

The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Authorities have launched an investigation to identify the source of the blaze and to verify whether safety protocols were being followed by the company. Initial reports suggest a possible short circuit or chemical reaction could be to blame.

Boisar MIDC is a hub for chemical and pharmaceutical companies, and past incidents have raised concerns over fire safety and regulatory compliance in the area. Local administration has assured that a thorough inquiry will be conducted, and action will be taken if any negligence is found.

Residents have urged authorities to strengthen safety measures and conduct routine checks to prevent such incidents in the future.
