Milind K Ukey’s Hindi feature “Blue Whale in the Pond” has been selected for the competitive section of the Girona Film Festival, one of Europe’s top-ten festivals, scheduled for November 4–7 in Spain. Director Milind K Ukey is known for celebrated projects such as “Paathshala,” the animated hit “Hanuman,” and the award-winning “Devaki.” In his latest work, “Blue Whale in the Pond,” Ukey tackles urgent contemporary issues, focusing on the dangers of youth addiction to hazardous online games. The film also explores the damaging consequences of regional fanaticism and mounting social pressures, making it highly relevant for young audiences, parents, and social organizations.
The film is presented by Ankit Sancheti . The story is driven by a fresh cast with a strong theatre background, ensuring authentic and compelling performances. Notably, popular stand-up comedian Sunil Pal takes on a special role as a police officer. Following its festival run, “Blue Whale in the Pond” will be released globally, bringing its important message to an international audience.
