CEO Sundar Pichai feels that Google has too many employees, but not a lot of them work efficiently and are focused

This news comes just days after Google reported that the second quarter of 2022 was “weaker than expected” in terms of earnings and revenue, which was also the case with the first quarter.

  • Google is asking employees to improve focus and efficiency.
  • The company recently announced that it is freezing hiring for at least two weeks.
  • Google reported weaker earnings and revenue in Q2 2022.

It seems that Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai is not happy with the performance of many employees. The executive held a meeting and warned its employees to work efficiently and focus more on how to better improve their products and help customers. Pichai believes that productivity is missing and it is not where it should be considering the number of people Google has. This basically suggests that the CEO feels that Google has too many employees, but not a lot of them work efficiently and are focuse.

This news comes just days after Google reported that the second quarter of 2022 was “weaker than expected” in terms of earnings and revenue, which was also the case with the first quarter. The cited source says that the software giant reportedly witnessed 13 percent less growth in this quarter compared to last year.

Just recently, the search giant wants to “review headcount needs and align on a new set of prioritized staffing requests for the next three months.” This suggests that the company could soon sack some employees because of a lack of efficiency and productivity, skills and to, of course, save cost.
