Jammu and Kashmir this year promoting border tourism and adventure tourism.

To give a boost to tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, the government is planning to enhance the capacity of homestays to 25,000 beds by December this year besides promoting border tourism and adventure tourism.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level meeting to review the new initiatives of the Tourism Department. He sought a detailed report on homestays, setting up of tented accommodations at major tourist attractions, adventure activities, newly identified trekking routes, border tourism, capacity building programme at various levels.

Hafeez gave a detailed presentation on the activity plan for 75 offbeat destinations identified by the department, which are being developed with proper infrastructure and requisite facilities for tourists.
