Mopa international airport took centre stage at the Goa Tourism Board’s second meeting on Wednesday. We discussed logistics and transportation issues that will come up after the Mopa airport is commissioned,” said tourism minister Rohan Khaunte.
The focus of the meeting was on how to take the industry forward after Mopa airport becomes operational in September. The second important issue discussed was about several investment proposals linked to the tourism sector not moving forward. It was widely deliberated about the need to have an integrated beach management system. An environmental expert should be appointed on the board so that there is clarity while granting approvals to eco-sensitive projects, he said.
