Tourism Stakeholders Expect Rise In Footfall.

MYSURU: With the International Day of Yoga (IDY) celebration fast approaching, the tourism, and hospitality industry, which is the backbone of the district’s economy, is expecting another successful week this month.

Inquiries have started pouring in with thousands of yogis planning to visit

Mysuru to perform yoga and, witness the architectural marvels of this region.

“The inquiries for June 20, and 21 are good. At least 20,000 tourists from across India are expected to come to Mysuru for IDY to perform yoga,” said BS Prashanth, honourary president of Mysuru Travels Association. “There are enquiries asking whether we have any packages for yoga day — accommodation, and other facilities. We are expecting a sea of tourists at that time from all over the country,” he added.
