18-yr-old Sriya Lenka from Odisha becomes India’s first K-pop star

But in this article, we are going to tell you about an 18-year-old girl from Odisha who has become India’s first K-pop idol. Yes, it is true! Sriya Lenka from Odisha was introduced as a member of the K-pop girl group Blackswan. The band debuted in 2020. However, Sriya joined the group on May 26, 2022.

Blackswan was started back in 2011 by DR Music. Currently, it is a four-member group including the leader and Korean singer Go Young Heun (Youngheun), Belgium-based Senegalese singer Fatou Samba (Fatou), Korean singer-dancer Kim Da Hye (Judy) and Brazilian-Japanese singer Larissa Ayumi Cartes Sakata (Leia).

DR Music shared a post about Sriya and Gabri, another trainee member of Blackswan. “Sriya and Gabi were finally selected as members of Blackswan after participating in the global audition program for the last 6 months. With their debut, we will be back with the new Blackswan,” read the caption.

“’Cygnus’, which means constellation of swan, is a project to discover and to train trainees to become stars like the Cygnus. Sriya and Gabi are the first generation of Cygnus, and will be introduced soon. Thank you for your interest and support. And the Cygnus project will continue in the future,” the company announced in another post.
